Fire Alarm Systems
Trident have been supplying and fitting Fire Alarm Systems for over 20 years and we have fitted all types of systems from basic single break glass system to large Fire System in Power Stations.
There is a choice of different systems to choose from, we at Trident work and follow to current BS or European standards which is a benchmark for all types of equipment is approved and how it is to be installed.
There are roughly 4 types of systems which are as follows:-
- Stand alone smoke/heat detectors with built in sounders(as used in a domestic environment) Mains or Battery
- Stand alone smoke/heat detectors with built in sounders (as used in domestic environment) Mains Wired
- Interlinked with battery standby. (If one detector is triggered this in turn triggers all the other detectors)
- Stand alone smoke/Heat , Call Points, CO2 detection with built in sounders (as used in HMO Applications) Mains Wired Interlinked with battery standby, or wireless linked with long life trickle charged lithium back up batteries (typically 10 year life).
- Analogue Fire Systems which can be used in domestic or commercial environments and generally comprise of a Fire Panel with zone indicators and rechargeable battery backup, Smoke/Heat Detectors, Fire Sirens, Break Glass Units , Co2 Detectors & Beam Smoke Detectors.
- Addressable Systems mostly used in commercial environments like Hospitals, Hotels, Large Companies and Public Buildings. These systems are more costly as they generally use high tech detectors and monitoring systems compared to the other types of systems. They are used where monitoring of the system is imperative and any faults are shown up as to where and when a problem is found. They use all of the above and are wired on simple BUS systems which monitor and interrogate the system 24 hours day.
As you can see there is plenty of choice for the type of systems available, please feel free to contact us for a free visit and consultation, we also strongly recommend before installing any system that you contact your local Fire Officer for his advice and input, their service is free, and they can let you know what type of system they would prefer you to install. Fire Officers are an invaluable source of information and extremely helpful , it could save you a lot of time and money by not installing equipment that is not needed.
